Ruddi™ is the codename of a project sponsored by INSPIRE IT to build a set of libraries, tools and complete software solutions to promote the adoption of the Universal Description Discovery and Integration (UDDI) technology. INSPIRE IT is a European software development company based in Brussels, Belgium, and a member of the original consortium at the basis of the UDDI initiative. Ruddi™ is based on prior developments carried on by INSPIRE IT and consisting in a full UDDI client implementation transparently supporting UDDI V3, V2 and V1 messaging. INSPIRE IT's UDDI technology, developped in Java, has been downloaded by hundreds of developers of over 30 countries since July 2002. INSPIRE IT is and will remain the steward, architect and main developer of Ruddi™. For those willing to contribute, source code is available under the terms of the open source Reciprocal Public License (RPL). However, use and modifications of Ruddi™ without contributing back is only permitted under a classical commercial license that can be acquired at very reasonable fees reinvested in the continued development of the project. |
