Introduction
This tutorial comprises about twenty lessons that cover the most important aspects of Ruddi. The structure of each lesson is identical and is as follows.
-
Lesson objective
Briefly explain what the objective of the lesson is and the skills that will be gained once the lesson completed.
-
Reference material
Most lessons come with a working sample application. The source code can be found under the "examples" directory of the release of Ruddi. Additionally, pointers to other Ruddi manuals, specifications or external documents may be provided.
-
Related lessons
Indicates whether other lessons should be considered pre-requisites, or what other lessons could be completed in order to further refine skills.
-
Review of concepts
Briefly overviews the main concepts that need to be understood before completing a lesson, or that could further clarify the rationale of the methods explained.
-
Code snippets
Small but representative pieces of code that illustrate a lesson. The aim is not to provide fully functional code, but rather to provide textual explanation on how to write code. As a result, exception handling and checkings needed to ensure software robustness are not performed. Note that most examples come with a fully functional sample application.
